Patna: The Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Patna has conducted a special Saturday campaign across nine Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in Bihar, issuing more than 700 appointments in a bid to ease delays faced by applicants.
The drive, held on January 10, targeted centres where appointment slots were scarce. POPSKs in Bettiah, Chhapra, Ekma, Gaya, Gopalganj, Motihari, Aurangabad, Muzaffarpur and Siwan operated at full capacity during the campaign, collectively issuing 705 appointments.
Officials said the initiative was aimed at improving access for applicants struggling to secure timely slots across the state’s 37 POPSKs.
Following the response to the campaign, the RPO Patna said the same centres would reopen on one Saturday each in February and March. The office added that, depending on applicant demand, the Saturday opening arrangement could be extended throughout the year to further reduce waiting times.
