Patna: A high-tech guest house for police officers and personnel visiting Patna for official duties is proposed to be constructed at the Bihar Police Association premises on Mangles Road at an estimated cost of Rs 17.53 crore.
The proposed building will have a ground floor and four upper floors, along with a basement. The Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation has submitted the proposal to the Home Department for further approval.
The project received approval from the Bihar Police Central Administrative Committee before the proposal was forwarded to the department.
Accommodation For Police Personnel
According to Bihar Police Association president Mrityunjay Kumar Singh, the guest house will provide accommodation and dining facilities, particularly for junior police officers and personnel visiting the capital.
Police personnel who travel to Patna for official duties, raids and court-related work currently often depend on private hotels and guest houses for accommodation.
The proposed facility is intended to provide dedicated accommodation for such personnel within the association premises.
The building will have 66 bedrooms with attached bathrooms and 12 dormitories, each equipped with five beds.
Facilities For Meetings And Events
The guest house will also include facilities for meetings and large gatherings. A meeting hall with a capacity of 125 people is planned, along with a larger hall that can accommodate around 500 people and will have a stage.
The complex will have three cafeterias and a dining hall with seating for 60 people. A kitchen, gym and yoga hall are also part of the proposed plan.
Basement Parking And Officials’ Chambers
The basement will provide parking space for around 40 vehicles. Separate chambers will also be constructed for the Bihar Police Association’s president, general secretary, vice-president and treasurer.
The premises will include a designated flag-hoisting area, a terrace and a garden. The facilities are expected to support both accommodation and organisational activities.
Proposal Awaiting Further Approval
The Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation has prepared the architectural plan for the project. Following its approval by the Central Administrative Committee, the proposal was submitted to the Home Department.
Construction will begin after the required approvals are received.
The Police Association has welcomed the progress of the project and expressed its gratitude to Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
