Patna: Tragedy struck a private residential school near Patna on Sunday evening when three siblings suddenly fell seriously ill, with one losing his life. The children, all from the same family, were studying at the school located near Pabhedi turn in Dhanarua, adjacent to Patna.
Thirteen-year-old Suraj, the eldest, died following the sudden deterioration in their health. His younger brother Neeraj, 11, and sister Soni Priya, 9, remain critically ill in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Beldarichak.
Suraj was the son of Saroon, a resident of Vijaypura Garh who works in Hyderabad and was away at the time. Saroon received a distressing call from the school principal, Pramod Kumar, informing him of the children’s admission to hospital due to sudden health complications.
The family has made serious allegations against the school authorities, claiming that Suraj was already dead but was taken to a nursing home in an attempt to conceal the truth. When villagers arrived at the hospital, they confronted the principal, his son, and the driver. Police report that late at night the principal allegedly summoned a group of 10-12 people who forcefully removed the accused from the hospital.
Authorities suspect the children consumed a poisonous substance, leading to the tragic incident. A case has been registered against the principal following a complaint filed by the father.
