Patna: The St Michael’s High School (SMHS) Alumni Association has announced its newly elected office bearers for the 2026–28 term, following a general body meeting on Sunday in which the election results were formally declared.
Dr Vikash Shanker, a dermatologist at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) and a member of the 1996 batch, has been elected president of the association. Dr Manish Mandal, medical superintendent at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, from the 1988 batch of SMHS, has been elected president-elect.

Rohit Singh of the 1984 batch has been elected vice-president, while Manas Ranjan (1997 batch) will serve as secretary. The post of treasurer has gone to Mrs Sudhanshu (2004 batch), with Mohit Kumar (2005 batch) elected as joint secretary.
Addressing alumni after the announcement, Dr Mandal said the new executive would prepare a structured academic and social work calendar for the association. He added that this calendar would be integrated with the diary of SMHS, strengthening coordination between the alumni body and the school.
According to the incoming leadership, the association’s priorities over the next two years will include promoting students’ mental wellbeing, supporting academic excellence and expanding alumni-led social initiatives aimed at the wider community.

The association said the new term would seek to deepen alumni engagement while ensuring that professional expertise is channelled towards both student development and social responsibility.
