Patna: To deal with street light problems during the rainy season, Patna Municipal Corporation has started 33 special teams. These teams will check the lights in every ward at night and repair them on the spot if needed.
Municipal commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar said that each team has been given the duty of a separate ward. The teams include electricians and supervisors, who are supported with vehicles, ladders, tools and other equipment to make quick repairs.
The teams are monitored by the electricity department and must report daily about the number of lights fixed. Extra care is being taken for the main roads and busy areas, where faults are repaired without delay.
PMC has also requested residents to call the helpline 155304 if they find any street light problem near them. Officials said the aim is to make sure the city remains safe and well-lit during the monsoon and festival season.
