Patna: A student from Patna has retained the top national ranking in the School category of the ACAD QUAD online crossword competition for the second consecutive month.
Dhairya Pandey, of Don Bosco Academy, secured first place in the June round of the year-long competition, organisers announced while releasing the latest monthly results.
New Winners In Other Categories
While Dhairya continued his winning run in the School category, the other three divisions—College, Senior and Global—saw new winners.
Om Kumar Jha of NIT Manipur topped the College category, while R. Uma of Chennai finished first in the Senior category. Veteran crossword enthusiast Ramki Krishnan secured the top position in the Global category.
Organisers said the results reflected growing participation, with several new contestants also finishing among the top three across the four categories.
Top Performers
In the School category, Prashant Kumar Lency of Allen Career Institute, Kota, and Sahil Kumar of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Residential School, Bharra, Begusarai, secured second and third places respectively.
The runners-up in the College category were Shivam Kumar Jha of IIIT Manipur and Pranav Kumar Jha of Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology.
In the Senior category, Sree Prakash of Ernakulam and N. Rengaswamy of Chennai finished second and third respectively.
The Global category saw Harish Kamath of Bengaluru claim second place, followed by Samit Kallianpur of Secunderabad in third.

ACAD QUAD is a series of four daily online crossword contests hosted on Cryptic Singh, with the annual competitive season running from February 1 to October 31.
The competition is divided into four categories: School, College, Senior, and Global. While the School and College categories are open to students, the Senior category is reserved for participants aged over 60. The Global category is open to crossword enthusiasts from anywhere in the world.
