Patna: A heartbreaking incident took place on Monday at the Soumya ANM Training School in Adarsh Colony, Patna, when a young teacher, Jyoti Kumari, was found dead in her room. The 26-year-old, who hailed from Samastipur, was working at the institute under the Shastri Nagar police station area. The news of her death spread quickly, creating panic and sorrow across the school campus and nearby areas.
According to reports, Jyoti Kumari had been talking to a young man on a video call just before the tragedy. Soon after the call ended, she locked herself inside her room. The man tried calling her several times — as many as 26 times — but she did not answer. Growing worried, he contacted another teacher from the school and informed them about the situation.
Other staff members rushed to Jyoti’s room and repeatedly knocked on the door, but there was no response from inside. When the door remained locked, they broke it open and were shocked to find Jyoti hanging from the ceiling. The staff immediately informed the police, who reached the spot along with a forensic team and began their investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
The police have said that the case is being investigated from all possible angles. Initial findings suggest that Jyoti might have been in a relationship with the young man she spoke to before her death. Officers have also collected her mobile phone and other documents from the room for further examination. Locals told police that Jyoti had been under stress for the past few days, although the reason for it remains unclear.
At present, the police are waiting for the post-mortem and mobile call detail reports to understand what exactly happened before Jyoti’s death. The incident has left her colleagues and students in deep shock, as they remember her as a sincere and hardworking teacher. The tragedy serves as a reminder of how mental stress and personal troubles often go unnoticed until it is too late.
