Patna: Patna is going to see big changes as the government has planned many new projects to improve the city. Under the Chief Minister Samagra Urban Development Scheme, work is being done for the financial year 2024-25 to develop different areas. This scheme is focused on the fast and overall development of cities in Bihar.
The government is now preparing to extend this scheme for the year 2025-26. For this, an action plan will be prepared at the district level so that all works can be done properly. A total of 261 municipal bodies in the state will benefit from this plan. Different projects have been selected for each municipal body based on their needs, and estimates have been sent to the headquarters for technical approval.
In Patna, 112 projects have been selected for the Kankarbagh zone alone. The Bankipur zone will get 43 new projects, while 127 projects have been selected for the Pataliputra zone. The Nutan Rajdhani zone will also see improvements with 98 projects. These works include building new roads, drains, pipelines, high mast lights, vending zones, beautifying roundabouts, and making parks.
Apart from Patna city, Barh Municipal Council will get nine projects, Mokama Municipal Council will get 11, and Bakhtiyarpur Municipal Council will get one project under this scheme. Officials said that once all approvals are received, the work will begin soon to provide better facilities to people living in these areas.
