Patna: Patna traffic police have revised the city’s traffic plan for the Tiranga Yatra, a foot march scheduled for Monday, August 10, from JP Golambar to Kargil Chowk.
According to the traffic police, restrictions will begin at 7 am and remain in force until the conclusion of the programme. General vehicle movement will be stopped on several stretches, while diversions will be introduced on alternative routes.
Emergency vehicles and services will remain exempt from the restrictions.
Key Roads Closed To General Traffic
Vehicle movement will be restricted on several important stretches in central Patna, including:
- Dakbungalow Crossing to Gandhi Maidan (Children’s Park)
- New Dakbungalow Road to SP Verma Road
- Chhajjubagh towards TN Banerjee Road
- JP Golambar and Ramghulam Chowk towards Kargil Chowk
- Eastbound roads along Buddha Marg from Kotwali T-junction to Police Lines
- Buddha Marg’s Chhajjubagh turn towards the SDO Residence
The stretch between Dakbungalow Crossing and JP Golambar will be reserved for the motorcades of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
Restrictions For Goods Vehicles
Traffic police have also designated separate arrangements for goods-carrying vehicles entering and moving through the city.
Goods vehicles will not be permitted through Chiraiyatand and Goriyatoli. Movement of goods vehicles from Mithapur towards Buddha Marg and from R-Block Golambar towards Income Tax Golambar will also remain restricted.
Commercial vehicles will not be allowed to travel from Exhibition Road towards North Gandhi Maidan or from Goriyatoli towards Gandhi Maidan.
Auto-Rickshaw Route Between Patna Junction And Gandhi Maidan
Auto-rickshaws travelling from Patna Junction to Gandhi Maidan will follow the route through Dakbungalow Crossing, New Dakbungalow Road, Bhattacharya Turn and Exhibition Road.
For the return journey, autos will use the route through CDA Building Golambar and Goriyatoli before reaching Patna Junction.
Diversions For Buses, Autos And E-Rickshaws
City buses starting from the Engineering College will travel through Gandhi Chauraha, Machhuatoli, Dariyapur T-junction, Nala Road, Pirmuhani, CDA Building Roundabout and Goriyatoli before reaching Patna Junction.
The buses will follow the same route on their return journey.
Autos and e-rickshaws arriving from Patna City will be diverted through Musallahpur Hat and Bari Path towards Khazanchi Road. On the return journey, vehicles will use Ashok Rajpath from Khazanchi Road towards Gaighat.
Parking And Entry At Gandhi Maidan
Parking arrangements have been made at Gandhi Maidan for people participating in the Tiranga Yatra.
General participants will be able to enter the ground through Gate Nos 1 and 13. Gate No. 12 will be reserved for the entry of the Chief Minister.
Alternative Route From Voltas Mor
Vehicles travelling north from Voltas Mor will be able to reach the Police Line T-junction through Vidyapati Marg and Buddha Marg.
The flank leading towards Gandhi Maidan from the roundabout beneath JP Ganga Path, opposite the Commissioner’s Office, will be restricted to participants travelling to the Tiranga Yatra.
Traffic Restrictions To Continue Until Event Ends
The traffic arrangements are temporary and will remain in force until the Tiranga Yatra concludes.
Commuters travelling through central Patna on August 10 have been advised to account for the restrictions and use the designated alternative routes. Emergency services will continue to be allowed through the restricted areas.
