Patna: Patna is facing severe traffic congestion as the final day of Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra prompted road closures across the city. Vehicles, including cars, buses, and two-wheelers, have been stuck for hours along JP Ganga Path and surrounding areas, causing widespread disruption for commuters.
According to a notification from the district administration, all auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws are prohibited from operating near Gandhi Maidan from Monday morning. The yatra is scheduled to move from Gandhi Maidan to Ambedkar Park on Bailey Road.
Commuters reported long queues and slow-moving traffic near Dak Bungalow Chauraha, while parts of JP Ganga Path are heavily congested with parked four-wheelers and buses. Authorities have barred private vehicles from travelling from Ramgulam Chowk towards JP Golambar, forcing many visitors to continue on foot.
The district administration has deployed personnel to manage the situation, but residents have expressed frustration over the delays. Traffic diversions and road closures are expected to remain in place around Gandhi Maidan and its vicinity throughout the day.
