Patna: The Grand Alliance’s Voter Adhikar Yatra reached its final day in Patna, with opposition leaders rallying thousands of supporters in a show of political strength.
The march, which began at Gandhi Maidan with a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, featured prominent figures including Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress veteran Mallikarjun Kharge, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and CPI General Secretary D Raja. They were joined by Bihar Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and VIP supremo Mukesh Sahni, among other senior leaders, as the procession moved towards the Ambedkar statue at the High Court.
The Patna District Administration had restricted the route to Dakbungla Chauraha, but the march proceeded via SP Verma Road and Dakbungla Square before concluding at Ambedkar Park on Nehru Path, where leaders addressed the gathering.
Addressing supporters, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav emphasised Bihar’s democratic values, claiming the current government sought to undermine them. “Bihar is the land of democracy, and the people will not allow it to be destroyed,” he said, urging the crowd to call for change. He also criticised the state administration for alleged corruption and mismanagement, citing a case involving the discovery of large sums of cash and irregularities in government transfers.
“We want factories in Gujarat and victory in Bihar,” Tejashwi declared, urging supporters to continue raising slogans against the current government. He also highlighted issues such as unemployment and migration, vowing that his alliance would act against corrupt officials if elected.
