Patna: The Department of Commerce at Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, in partnership with St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (SJCC), Bengaluru, organised a career guidance programme for final-year B.Com students and commerce professionals on Thursday. The event took place at Carmel Hall and aimed to provide students with insights into postgraduate education and professional pathways.
The programme opened with a welcome address by Dr. Soofia Fatima, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management and Head of the Department of Commerce, who emphasised the importance of higher education in securing a successful career.

Dr. Komal A. Dave, Head of PG Studies at SJCC, Bengaluru, presented an overview of career opportunities, detailing the college’s academic structure, postgraduate programmes, scholarships, internships, and research facilities. Father Jeevan Isahak SJ from SJCC also addressed the students, outlining the admission process and sharing guidance on selecting specialisations aligned with career goals.

A video presentation offered a glimpse into the institution’s campus culture, placement support, academic societies, clubs, sports facilities, and professional development opportunities. Students engaged actively with the speakers, seeking advice on career planning and postgraduate prospects. The session was moderated by Sakshi Palak, a sixth-semester B.Com student.
