Patna Women’s College celebrates Independence Day with Ceremony and Patriotic Fervor
Patna: Patna Women’s College celebrated Independence Day with a vibrant ceremony on Thursday, characterized by the hoisting of the national flag amidst a sea of tricolours across the campus. The event began with a march-past led by hostel students, followed by the hoisting of the national flag by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College (PWC), accompanied by the singing of the national anthem.
The celebration continued with a patriotic song performed by a group of students, setting the tone for the day’s solemn yet festive atmosphere. Prayers and intentions were offered for the well-being of the nation’s leaders, soldiers, teachers, and all citizens, reflecting the collective hopes and aspirations of the college community.
In a poignant Independence Day speech, students Kaushikee Kanchan and Akanksha Chaturvedi paid tribute to the struggles and sacrifices of those who fought for India’s freedom and sovereignty, while also highlighting the ongoing quest for gender equality in the nation. Their words resonated with the audience, underscoring the importance of remembrance and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. extended her warm wishes for the 78th Independence Day, emphasizing the vision of a new India where knowledge is freely accessible, and the dignity of every individual is upheld. She urged everyone to draw inspiration from the national tricolour and to work collectively towards realizing the dream of a developed and united nation.
The programme, organized under the guidance of Sister Anna A.C., Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, and Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Head of the Department of History, concluded with a spirited rendition of patriotic songs such as “Jai Ho” and “Vande Mataram.” The celebrations reached their peak as attendees waved the national flag, embodying the pride and unity of the occasion.
