Patna: The Fashion Designing Department of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) hosted a workshop titled “Thread Your Way to Success: By Automatic Sewing Machine” on Thursday, aiming to equip students with practical skills for the fashion industry.
Held at the department premises at noon, the session saw active participation from 90 students across BAFD Semester 1, Semester 3, and PGDFD courses. The workshop was led by Mr. Manindra Nath Kumar, Senior Officer at Usha International Pvt. Ltd., who provided expert guidance on operating automatic sewing machines.

Students were trained in essential techniques such as thread control, stitch selection, and decorative fabric handling, with hands-on demonstrations on best practices and decorative stitching methods. The workshop was designed to empower budding fashion designers with the skills necessary to excel professionally.
The event was organised by Dr. Shemushi Madhu, Head of the Fashion Designing Department, and Ms. Geetanjali Chaudhary, department coordinator. Faculty members including Ms. Asha Pandey, Ms. Priyanka Singh, Ms. Vandana, and Dr. Purnima Roy were also present to support the initiative.
