Patna: Patna Women’s College organised a workshop on “Income Tax Return: Filing Procedures and Compliance” on Wednesday, aimed at making the process of filing returns more accessible for its teachers.
The session began with the felicitation of resource persons, CA Ravi Shankar Dubey and CA Chirantan Bhattacharya, by Dr Soofia Fatima, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management and Head of the Department of Commerce, along with CS Shweta Shah, Coordinator of the Department of Commerce Professional.
In her inaugural address, Dr Fatima stressed that the workshop was designed to demystify the process of income tax filing while clarifying deductions, exemptions and tax-saving options.
CA Chirantan Bhattacharya introduced the basics of income tax and compliance requirements, highlighting the key differences and benefits of India’s old and new tax regimes. CA Ravi Shankar Dubey provided practical guidance on filing procedures, offering hands-on demonstrations to help participants better understand compliance.
The workshop featured step-by-step instructions on ITR filing, updates on the latest provisions of tax law, strategies for tax planning, and tips to avoid common filing errors. It also covered compliance requirements for both individuals and businesses.
Interactive sessions with real-life case studies and live demonstrations helped participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The event was moderated by Puja Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Sagarika.
