Patna: A central team of the National Clean Ganga Mission (NMCG) reviewed the progress of Namami Gange projects being implemented by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO). The review meeting was chaired by Rahul Dwivedi, Director of NMCG, while BUIDCo Managing Director Animesh Kumar Parashar presented updates on all projects.
Currently, 34 schemes are under implementation across Bihar with a total cost of Rs 5,846.98 crore. The meeting highlighted the progress of major projects in Patna, including Beur, Saidpur, Karamlichak, and Pahari sewerage networks and sewage treatment plants (STPs), as well as projects in Digha and Kankarbagh.
Schemes in other districts such as Begusarai, Barh, Naugachhia, Sultanganj, Mokama, Hajipur, Maner, Chapra, Sonpur, Phulwari, Danapur, and Fatuha were also reviewed. Discussions covered implementation speed, sewerage connectivity, electricity connections, land-related clearances, and other key issues.
Project managers and contractors from all districts attended, providing detailed updates on their work. The central team underlined the importance of addressing challenges quickly and ensuring that projects are completed within the set timelines. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling the mission’s goal of cleaning and conserving the river Ganga.
