Patna: Patna Women’s College, in collaboration with its Vigyan Club, hosted Vigyan Utsav 2026 to mark National Science Day with a strong focus on artificial intelligence and sustainable development. The two-day celebration commemorated the discovery of the Raman Effect by C. V. Raman and centred on the theme “AI Powered Science for Sustainable Development and Viksit Bharat”, highlighting the growing role of AI in building a technologically empowered India.

The first day opened with “AI Bharat: Model Making Competition”, an inter-college event organised by the departments of chemistry and zoology. Thirteen teams presented AI-based working models addressing challenges in agriculture, healthcare, safety and environmental sustainability. Judges from leading academic institutions evaluated the entries, encouraging students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.

Alongside this, more than 60 students participated in “DigiPoster – Sustainable Healthy Practices: The AI Way”, an e-poster competition led by the departments of biotechnology, clinical nutrition and dietetics, and statistics. The digital submissions explored how AI tools can promote healthier lifestyles and environmentally responsible practices. An AI-based quiz, “AI Brain Blitz”, further tested participants’ understanding of data science and modern scientific innovation.

On the second day, attention turned to emerging skills with “AI Tales – Prompt Engineering Competition”, introducing students to techniques used in interacting with advanced AI systems. Meanwhile, “SurvAI: Startup Idea Presentation” invited participants to pitch AI-driven business ideas rooted in sustainability, biotechnology and climate resilience. Adding a creative dimension, “RoboRhythm”, an AI-themed dance competition, blended performing arts with technological imagination.
The valedictory session was attended by senior academicians and government officials, who distributed prizes and praised the analytical and creative abilities of the students. Participants from institutions including Patna Science College, BN College, Government Engineering College Bhojpur, Veer Kunwar Singh University and Magadh Mahila College joined the host college, reflecting the festival’s wide academic outreach.
