Patna: The Bihar government has invited suggestions from the public, experts and tourists to help shape plans to modernise Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in Patna, with the aim of making it more attractive and tourist-friendly.
The Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department said the initiative is part of efforts to upgrade the state’s largest zoo to international standards. The park, which attracts more than two million visitors each year, houses several rare species including tigers, elephants, rhinos and chital deer, and is regarded as a key institution for wildlife conservation in Bihar.
Officials said proposals will focus on building environmentally friendly infrastructure, introducing digital facilities, expanding educational programmes for children and researchers, and improving cleanliness and green spaces. The department also plans to enhance awareness campaigns around environmental conservation.
The government has set a deadline of October 10 for citizens to submit ideas. Suggestions can be sent by email to efd.bih.feed@gmail.com or via WhatsApp on 8114593954.
