Patna: The Bihar government will deploy pink, green and electric buses for officers and employees of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat, with three dedicated routes finalised following a high-level meeting on Friday.
The decision was taken during discussions between Assembly Speaker Dr Prem Kumar and Transport Minister Damodar Rawat, where consensus was reached on introducing organised transport services for Secretariat staff.
Decision on Staff Mobility
According to officials present in the meeting, the initiative aims to improve daily commute facilities for Assembly employees. The proposal was placed by the Legislative Assembly Secretariat, which had requested dedicated bus connectivity across key residential and administrative zones in Patna.
Transport Secretary Raj Kumar informed the meeting that the department is already operating six electric buses and five pink buses on different routes for Secretariat staff, and the new arrangement will extend access to Legislative Assembly employees as well.
Routes Finalised
Three routes have been proposed for the new bus services:
Route 1: AIIMS Patna → Phulwarisharif → Anisabad → Chitkohra → Kacchi Talab → Gardanibagh → Mithapur → Bihar Legislative Secretariat.
Route 2: Saguna Mor → RPS → Gola Road → Jagdeo Path → Ashiana Mor → Ramnagari → Rajiv Nagar Police Station → Rajvanshi Nagar → Shastri Nagar → Bihar Legislative Secretariat.
Route 3: Dhanki Mor → Kumhrar → Bhoothnath Mor → NMCH → Rajendra Nagar Terminal → Kankarbagh Colony Mor → Karbigahiya → R-Block → Bihar Legislative Assembly, Election Commission and Vikas Bhawan.
Officials Present
The meeting was attended by Assembly Deputy Speaker Narendra Narayan Yadav, Bihar State Road Transport Corporation Administrator Atul Verma, and senior officials from the Transport Department and Legislative Secretariat.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at streamlining transport access for government employees while supporting the expansion of electric mobility in Patna.
