Patna: Diksha, a 2021-batch IPS officer of the Bihar cadre, has been transferred to the AGMUT cadre following approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs under provisions related to inter-cadre transfer on marriage grounds.
According to an official notification issued by the ministry, Diksha has been relieved from the Bihar cadre and allotted to the AGMUT cadre, which covers Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories.
Transfer Approved Under Marriage Policy
Officials said the transfer was processed under All India Services rules that permit cadre changes after marriage between two officers belonging to different cadres.
Under the policy, officers may apply to serve in the same cadre or geographical region following marriage.
Diksha is married to Dwarka Gandhi, a 2022-batch IPS officer belonging to the AGMUT cadre.

Originally from Chak Shibu village in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir, Gandhi secured the 412th rank in the UPSC civil services examination before joining the Indian Police Service.
Officials said the cadre transfer would allow both officers to serve within the same cadre structure.
