Patna: The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has unveiled a series of special travel packages for devotees attending Pitru Paksha in 2025, offering both on-site and online options for performing the ritual of Pind Daan.
This year’s Pitru Paksha Mela will be held from September 6 to 21 in Gaya, with an International Pitru Paksha Fair also planned in Punpun, Patna. Officials say preparations at both sites are in their final stages, with additional arrangements in place for visitors.
For those unable to travel, BSTDC will provide an e-Pind Daan service for devotees in India and abroad, allowing rituals to be performed at Vishnupad Temple, Akshayvat and the Falgu River for Rs 23,000.
Five tour packages have been introduced, all bookable via the corporation’s official website, and covering travel, accommodation, meals, a priest (pandit), and ritual materials. Prices vary by category and duration.
The Patna–Punpun–Gaya–Patna one-day package offers three categories, ranging from Rs 14,450 to Rs 30,650, including same-day return travel and all arrangements for Pind Daan.
The Nalanda–Rajgir package, available after performing rituals in Gaya, spans one night and two days, with prices between Rs 18,850 and Rs 40,700. Another one-night, two-day option includes tours of Gaya, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir and Nalanda, costing between Rs 16,550 and Rs 33,850.
BSTDC officials said the aim was to make the spiritual journey “more accessible, comfortable, and culturally enriching” for pilgrims, whether they attend in person or opt for the remote service.
