Patna: The Railways has introduced temporary two-minute stoppages for 17 trains at Punpun Ghat Halt and Anugrah Narayan Snan Ghat to facilitate pilgrims travelling for the Pitru Paksha Mela.
The special arrangement will remain operational from September 25 to October 10, according to information released by the Railways. Twelve trains will stop at Punpun Ghat Halt, while five will halt at Anugrah Narayan Snan Ghat.
Trains To Halt At Punpun Ghat
The temporary stoppage at Punpun Ghat Halt includes the Patna-Bhabua Road-Patna Intercity, Barkakana-Patna-Barkakana Palamu Express, Singrauli-Patna-Singrauli Express, Islampur-Hatia-Islampur Express and Purnia Court-Hatia-Purnia Court Express.
Other trains covered by the arrangement include the Rajgir-Banaras-Rajgir Buddhapurnima Express, Patliputra-Gaya-Patliputra MEMU, Cherlapalli-Patna-Cherlapalli Special, Cherlapalli-Patna Special, Patna-Nawada-Patna MEMU, Islampur-Patna-Islampur MEMU and Patna-Gaya MEMU.
Five Trains To Stop At Anugrah Narayan Snan Ghat
Five trains will receive temporary stoppages at Anugrah Narayan Snan Ghat. These include the 63289/63290, 63291/63292 and 63295/63296 Gaya-Dehri-on-Sone-Gaya MEMU Passenger trains.
The 13305/13306 Dhanbad-Sasaram-Dhanbad Intercity and 13553/13554 Asansol-Varanasi-Asansol MEMU Passenger will also stop at the ghat for two minutes.
Arrangement For Pilgrims
Anugrah Narayan Snan Ghat is a temporary halt located between Anugrah Narayan Road and Chiraila Pauthu at the 539/21-540/07 km mark.
The Railways said the temporary stoppages have been introduced in view of the expected movement of pilgrims during the Pitru Paksha Mela, allowing passengers to access the respective bathing and religious sites more conveniently.
Passengers Advised To Check Timings
The Railways has advised passengers to check the scheduled timings of their trains before travelling, as the additional stoppages are temporary and will apply only during the specified period.
Passengers have also been advised to reach the station well in advance to avoid inconvenience during the mela period.
