Gaya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is scheduled to address a joint public meeting at Magadh University Campus in Bodh Gaya on August 22. The event will also see the foundation stone laying and inauguration of government schemes worth approximately Rs 12,000 crore. Authorities are expecting around 500,000 attendees from districts including Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal, Nawada, and neighbouring areas of Jharkhand such as Chatra, Hazaribagh, and Palamu.
In anticipation of the large crowd, the district administration has announced a detailed traffic management plan. Shashank Shubhankar, District Magistrate, and Anand Kumar, Superintendent of Police, released a route chart to ensure smooth movement and parking.
Buses from Patna, Jehanabad, Daudnagar, and Arwal will halt at the toll plaza after crossing Domuhan flyover before being directed to designated parking areas. Overflow buses will be diverted towards Dobhi. Those arriving from Nalanda and Nawada will travel via Wazirganj and Kandi-Nawada before joining the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi road. Buses approaching from the Dobhi-Patna flyover will be accommodated at IIM parking if space permits; otherwise, they will stop at the toll plaza and proceed towards Dobhi. Vehicles from Gaya-Bodhgaya will use the service lane via Domuhan to reach parking near Dobhi.
Buses from Sherghati, Imamganj, and Aurangabad will reach Bodh Gaya via Dobhi and be parked behind IHM and IIM parking number three. Once full, passengers will be dropped at the toll plaza while buses are redirected towards Patna. Private vehicles will be restricted along the Gularia Chowk to Dobhi stretch of the Patna-Dobhi national highway, with diversions in place for vehicles coming from Patna-Jehanabad.
Special arrangements have been made for VVIPs and senior officials. Vehicles arriving from Patna will enter through a newly constructed gate at Magadh University, while those from Gaya will be parked at Node One or the Convention Centre as required.
