Bettiah/Sitamarhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold two major election rallies in Bihar today, aiming to strengthen the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) campaign in the Champaran region ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.
According to official information, PM Modi will arrive at Kudia Kothi in Bettiah’s Chanpatia block at 10 am and address a public meeting in support of NDA candidates. The Prime Minister is expected to stay at the venue for about an hour before departing for Sitamarhi, where he will hold another rally at the Dumra Airport grounds.
The Bettiah rally is strategically significant as the Prime Minister is expected to appeal to voters across nine assembly constituencies in West Champaran and 11 constituencies in East Champaran. NDA candidates from Valmikinagar, Ramnagar, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Lauriya, Nautan, Chanpatia, Bettiah, and Sikta constituencies in West Champaran, along with candidates from Sugauli, Narkatia, Harsiddhi, Gobindganj, Kesaria, Kalyanpur, Pipra, Motihari, Madhuban, Chiraiya, and Dhaka constituencies in East Champaran, will share the stage with the Prime Minister.
Elaborate Security and Traffic Arrangements
Security has been tightened in both Bettiah and Sitamarhi ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit. A three-tier security system has been put in place, with NSG commandos, CRPF, SSB, and local police personnel deployed at key points. CCTV cameras have been installed at the venues and nearby areas to ensure round-the-clock monitoring.
Authorities have also made special arrangements for crowd control, traffic management, and vehicle parking. Barricading has been set up along the approach roads, while volunteer teams and public address systems are in place to guide attendees and manage large gatherings.
PM Modi’s Attack on Opposition in Kaimur Rally
A day earlier, the Prime Minister addressed public meetings in Kaimur and Aurangabad districts, where he sharply criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress.
“The RJD and Congress were in high spirits, but after the first phase of voting, their balloon has started to deflate,” PM Modi said, adding that the youth of Bihar have exposed the opposition’s false promises.
He mocked the RJD leadership, referring to them as the “prince of Jungle Raj,” and questioned their credibility. “Ask him what his plan is, and he falls silent,” the Prime Minister said.
Taking a jibe at RJD’s campaign songs, PM Modi said, “Have you heard their songs? One says, ‘Bhaiya ki sarkar aayegi, banenge randar’ — meaning they are waiting to return to power to restart extortion. Another song goes, ‘Marb sixer ke 6 goli chaati mein.’ This is the echo of Jungle Raj.”
