Patna: Patna is set to welcome a new retail landmark, the PM Unity Mall, which will be constructed on a 2.97-acre site near Atal Path. The five-storey building, including a basement and ground floor, will cover a total built-up area of 19,466 square metres, with a ground coverage of 3,070 square metres.
The mall forms part of the central government’s ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) initiative, aimed at promoting local craftsmanship and entrepreneurship. Shoppers will find traditional products from across Bihar, as well as from other states and Union Territories, all under a single roof. Officials say the project is expected to provide significant marketing opportunities for artisans, boost the local economy, and strengthen the visibility of regional products.
Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena recently inspected the site, reviewing traffic management, security arrangements, and proposed facilities. He instructed officials to ensure the mall is completed on time and meets quality standards, while emphasising environmental compliance, adequate parking, and visitor safety.
Construction of the PM Unity Mall is part of a wider effort to combine commercial development with the promotion of regional cultural heritage.
