Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has ramped up its fogging and anti-larvae operations across the city to control the spread of vector-borne diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and malaria. The civic body has deployed teams in two shifts to carry out extensive fogging and spraying in all wards, especially during sunrise and sunset—when dengue mosquitoes are most active.

In a review meeting held at Adalat Ganj pond premises, the municipal commissioner monitored the ongoing operations and directed employees to remain on high alert. Daily field visits by senior officials and walkie-talkie reviews have been instituted to ensure accountability and real-time updates from across the city.

Anti-larvae spraying is being conducted in and around public places and 50 houses in each ward daily, targeting potential breeding sites. Separate teams have been deployed to key hospitals including PMCH and NMCH, where fogging and spraying are being carried out twice a day. These teams are also required to submit geo-tagged photographs of the work sites to enable monitoring from the central control room.

The Municipal Commissioner has mandated random inspections to assess the ground situation and ensure fogging compliance in densely populated and complaint-prone areas. Residents have been encouraged to report lapses or request fogging in their localities by calling the PMC helpline number 155304.
