Patna: Authorities in Patna and its surrounding areas have initiated raids following suspicions of a question paper leak in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) examination. An FIR has been filed based on confidential information, leading to the detention and interrogation of several individuals, confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra. The NEET UG exam was held nationwide on Sunday.

Today’s examination spanned 571 cities within the country and 14 cities abroad, with 4750 centers established nationwide. Approximately 24 lakh students participated in the exam, with 68 examination centers in Patna district alone. Bihar, with centers in 35 districts, recorded 1.39 lakh candidates.

The exam centers in Bihar covered various districts including Patna, Araria, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, and others. However, suspicions arose after the NEET UG question paper was allegedly distributed incorrectly at the Girls Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidya Mandir examination center in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. Despite invigilators’ attempts to prevent it, some candidates reportedly exited the center with the question paper forcefully.

Following the completion of the examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a notice addressing the incident, acknowledging the erroneous distribution of the NEET UG question paper at the aforementioned examination center. This prompted outrage among some candidates, who allegedly left the center with the question paper despite being instructed otherwise by invigilators.
