Patna: Pataliputra University (PPU) administration has issued notification for appointment of acting principals at the 16 newly established government affiliated degree colleges functioning under PPU. The notification has been issued following the instructions from the state’s higher education department. The university administration said the arrangement had come into effect immediately.
According to the notification issued by the university registrar, Prof Abu Bakar Rizvi, the acting principals have been assigned academic, administrative and financial responsibilities for the institutions located across Patna and Nalanda districts.
The institutions include Government Degree Colleges at Sampatchak, Daniyawan, Khusrupur, Athmalgola, Belchhi, Ghoswari, Maner, Rahui, Noorsarai, Bind, Nagarnausa, Katrisarai, Tharthari, Karai Parsurai, Parwalpur and Sarmera.
University plans further staff appointments
PPU vice-chancellor Prof Upendra Prasad Singh said teachers and the non-teaching staff would also be deputed to the newly established colleges in the coming months to ensure smooth academic operations.
Under the notification, the acting principals have been tasked with beginning regular classes from the 2026-27 academic session, overseeing admissions and helping develop institutional infrastructure.
The university has also instructed all appointed principals to assume charge at their respective colleges without delay.
Focus on infrastructure and academic preparedness
The university administration directed the acting principals to coordinate with district authorities to ensure the availability of essential facilities, including classrooms, buildings, furniture, drinking water, electricity and sanitation services.
Officials have also been asked to complete admissions, examination preparation, classroom operations and administrative processes within stipulated timelines.
PPU administration said, all colleges would be required to maintain academic standards and discipline while complying fully with state government and university guidelines. The deputation orders will remain in force until further notice.
