Saharsa/Patna: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra turned her Bihar election rally into a political spectacle on Monday with a sharp dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that the government create a new department — the “Ministry of Insult.”
Addressing a massive crowd in Sonbarsa, Saharsa, Priyanka said, “Whenever the opposition raises questions about jobs and employment, or protests against injustice, the BJP calls it an insult to the country. So I suggest that Modi ji should establish a Ministry of Insult. Then, whoever speaks up can simply be summoned by it.”
The Congress leader accused the BJP of using the same “insult narrative” across states. “During the Karnataka elections, they said the opposition insulted Karnataka. In Bengal, they said we insulted Bengal. And now in Bihar, they are claiming that the opposition is insulting the people of Bihar,” she said.
Priyanka further added, “Instead of wasting time creating lists of insults, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister should focus on real issues — employment, development, and industrialization.”
Taking another swipe at PM Modi, she quipped that the new ministry should also “keep a record of all the abuses and insults hurled at my family.” She added humorously, “An entire library will be needed for that.”
The remark came in response to PM Modi’s recent claim that Rahul Gandhi had “insulted” the Chhath Puja festival by calling it a “drama.”
Continuing her attack, Priyanka accused the BJP-JD (U) alliance of betraying women. “They have only cheated women. They never understood their struggles, and now they want to buy votes with money. But Bihar’s women have understood their intentions and will respond through their votes,” she said.
