The main building will host 39 departments, featuring five floors above the ground level and a basement. Additionally, the complex will include two more blocks: the SDO and DDC Block and the District Board Office and Multi-Utility Building Block.
Commissioner Ravi emphasized the importance of regular site inspections, which are continually monitored by the District Magistrate. Engineers have been directed to maintain the momentum of the construction work.
Situated between the Ganga River to the north and Gandhi Maidan to the south, the design of the new assembly building is a blend of traditional and modern architectural styles. Commissioner Ravi highlighted that the new complex would be a notable architectural landmark in Patna, offering state-of-the-art facilities and serving as a centralized hub for district administration.
The construction, managed by the Construction Division-1 of the Building Construction Department, covers a plot area of 43,454 square meters (10.74 acres) with a built-up area of 28,388 square meters. Commissioner Ravi instructed the building executive engineer to ensure ample natural light and ventilation throughout the building.
The building will feature separate entrances for different departments, a central green public plaza, underground and open parking, and centralized air conditioning based on a VRV system. Facilities will include a canteen, a bank, and extensive security measures such as CCTV surveillance, fire protection systems, and earthquake-resistant structures. The premises will also have multiple conference rooms equipped with projectors and audio-visual systems.
Approximately 205 open parking spots and 240 basement parking spots will be available. The campus will include four gardens with a total green area of 3,484 square meters, and solar panels will be installed for rainwater harvesting and energy conservation.
