Purnia: The Cyber Police in Purnia have arrested a 30-year-old man for possessing and sharing child pornography. The accused, identified as Saddam Hussain, a resident of Barsauni Petrol Pump under Sadar police station area, was taken into custody following a tip-off.
Cyber DSP Chandan Kumar Thakur said that information was received through a ‘tip line’ that a youth was watching and sharing objectionable photos and videos related to child pornography on the internet. Considering the seriousness of the case, Superintendent of Police Sweety Sahrawat directed the formation of a special team.
The team included SI Manish Chandra Yadav, constable Mukesh Kumar, constable Tej Bahadur Choubey, and driver constable Suman Kumar. Acting on specific inputs, the police tracked the accused’s digital footprints, identified his location, and arrested him from the Sadar police station area.
Following his arrest, Saddam was brought to the Cyber Police Station for interrogation. During questioning, the police discovered a large cache of obscene content related to child pornography hidden in a password-protected app on his mobile phone, as well as on his Google Drive account. Saddam confessed to watching and sharing the content online.
He has been booked under relevant sections of the law and sent to jail. Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine if he was part of a larger network.
