Purnia/Patna: Purnia District Magistrate Anshul Kumar has been felicitated by NITI Aayog for outstanding performance under the Government of India’s Aspirational District and Aspirational Block programmes, earning a Gold Medal for saturating all 6 key indicators at the district level and a Silver Medal for achieving 5 out of 6 indicators at the block level during last year’s Sampurnata Abhiyan.
Under the Aspirational District framework, Purnia achieved 100% saturation on six indicators: registration of pregnant women, child immunization, nutrition (poshan) distribution, soil health card issuance, provision of electricity connections in schools, and timely distribution of textbooks. At the Aspirational Block level, Baisi and Srinagar blocks recorded saturation on five indicators, including registration of pregnant women, nutrition support to expectant mothers, screening of people aged 30+ for diabetes and hypertension, and allocation of revolving funds to self-help groups under JEEViKA.
Officials said the recognition underscores focused convergence across health, nutrition, agriculture, and education, with field teams pushing last‑mile delivery to ensure beneficiary coverage and on-time service provision. The district administration credited coordinated work by frontline workers, panchayat representatives, and departmental teams for meeting time-bound targets.
The Sampurnata Abhiyan—run under the Aspirational District/Block framework—aims to rapidly close critical gaps through indicator-wise saturation, data-driven monitoring, and community outreach. Purnia’s performance places it among the top achievers in Bihar on multi-sector service delivery.
