A defamation complaint has been lodged in a Patna court against four opposition leaders – Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Mukesh Sahni and Mohd Rizvi – following allegations that they abused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother during the India Alliance’s Voter Rights Yatra in Darbhanga. The case, registered as complaint number 12,873/2025, was filed by lawyer Awadhesh Kumar Pandey under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 3(5), 61(1)(2), 62, 356, 351 and 353.
