Patna: Indian Railways has extended the operation of four pairs of special trains connecting Bihar with Telangana, Maharashtra and Odisha, citing continued high passenger demand.
The move is expected to provide additional travel options for passengers travelling from Patna, Danapur and Raxaul to destinations including Hyderabad, Mumbai and Khurda Road.
Patna–Cherlapalli Special Extended
The operation of the 03253/03254/03255 Patna–Cherlapalli–Patna Special has been extended.
Train 03253 will depart from Patna every Monday and Wednesday from August 3 to September 16.
The return services will also continue, with 03254 departing Cherlapalli every Wednesday from August 5 to September 16, and 03255 leaving Cherlapalli every Friday from August 7 to September 18.
The train will operate via Gaya, Koderma, Gomoh, Ranchi, Bilaspur, Raipur, Nagpur and Kazipet.
Danapur–Cherlapalli Service To Continue
Railways has also extended the 07091/07092 Cherlapalli–Danapur–Cherlapalli Special.
Train 07091 will run from Cherlapalli every Saturday between August 1 and September 26, while 07092 will depart Danapur every Monday from August 3 to September 28.
The service will operate through DDU, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Gondia, Ballarshah, Ramagundam and Kazipet.
Relief For Mumbai-Bound Passengers
Passengers travelling to Mumbai will benefit from the extension of the 05557/05558 Raxaul–Lokmanya Tilak–Raxaul Special.
Train 05557 will leave Raxaul every Tuesday from August 4 to September 15, while 05558 will depart Lokmanya Tilak every Thursday from August 6 to September 17.
The train will run via Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Patliputra and DDU.
Patna–Khurda Road Special Also Extended
Railways has also extended the 03230/03229 Patna–Khurda Road Junction–Patna Special.
Train 03230 will operate from Patna every Thursday from August 6 to August 27, while 03229 will leave Khurda Road Junction every Friday from August 7 to August 28.
Railway officials said the extensions were approved to accommodate the sustained increase in passenger traffic on these routes during the current travel season.
