Patna: The Indian Railways has announced a series of summer special trains connecting Patna with Pune and Mumbai to manage the expected surge in passenger traffic during the holiday season, offering additional capacity on some of the country’s busiest long-distance routes.
Among the key additions is a daily Pune–Danapur–Hadapsar special (Train No. 01449/01450). The service will depart from Pune at 3.30pm and reach Danapur at 2.45am on the third day of travel, providing an overnight long-distance connection between Maharashtra and Bihar.
In the return direction, the Danapur–Hadapsar service will leave Danapur at 5am and arrive in Hadapsar at 6.15pm the following day. The train is scheduled to halt at major stations including Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar and Ara.
To further ease congestion on the Mumbai route, a daily Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Danapur special (Train No. 01143/01144) will also be operated. The service will depart from Mumbai and reach Danapur at 6.45pm on the second day, offering direct connectivity between the two cities.
In addition, a weekly Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Samastipur special (Train No. 01043/01044) has been introduced to strengthen connectivity between Mumbai and other parts of Bihar.
According to railway officials, all the trains will pass through major junctions including Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur and Bhusawal, improving access for passengers travelling from intermediate stations along the routes.
Passengers have been advised to book tickets in advance and comply with railway travel regulations. Officials said the measures are aimed at easing pressure on existing services and improving travel convenience during the peak summer period.
