Rain Alert in 11 Bihar Districts as Cold Weather Approaches
Patna: Bihar is set to experience colder weather in the coming weeks, with night temperatures expected to gradually decrease. While no rain is forecast for today, and the weather will remain dry across the state, a rain alert has been issued for 11 districts on October 18. Daytime temperatures may rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, but nighttime will bring a noticeable drop in temperature.
Meteorologist S.K. Patel reported that the weather remained dry over the last 24 hours, with temperatures still slightly above normal by one to two degrees Celsius. The highest temperature recorded was 34.6 degrees Celsius in Banka, with Patna reaching a maximum of 31.4 degrees. As westerly winds begin to move in from the lower regions of the state, a gradual cooling trend is expected.
According to the Patna Meteorological Center, cold weather is likely to settle in by Diwali and Chhath Mahaparva, as westerly winds fully enter the region. The coming weeks will bring cooler nights, although humidity may still cause discomfort during the day due to rising temperatures.
Rain is forecast for October 18 in the districts of Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Purnia, Saharsa, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Jamui, Munger, and Banka. This year’s monsoon recorded 798.3 mm of rainfall, 20% below the normal average of 992.2 mm.
