New Delhi/Patna: Rajgir Zoo Safari director Ram Sundar M., an Indian Forest Service officer, has been honoured with the prestigious Best Use of Technology award at the Eco Warrior Awards 2026 for the innovative use of technology in wildlife conservation, management and visitor experiences.
The fourth edition of the Eco Warrior Awards was held on Tuesday, at Rang Bhawan, All India Radio, Sansad Marg, New Delhi. The awards were organised by Indian Masterminds in association with the Indian Forest Service Association.
Ram Sundar M. is described in the release as the first Indian Forest Service officer from the Bihar cadre to receive the Eco Warrior Awards, which were established in 2023.
Technology And Wildlife Conservation
The award recognises efforts at Rajgir Zoo Safari to integrate modern technological solutions with wildlife conservation and management while creating an enhanced visitor experience.
According to the release, the initiative seeks to establish a balance between conservation, innovation and tourism, demonstrating how modern technology and scientific approaches can support nature conservation alongside a high-quality tourism experience.
Digital Ticketing, GPS Tracking
Among the technology initiatives highlighted at Rajgir Zoo Safari is QR-code-based ticketing and slot management.
The digital system is designed to streamline visitor entry, reduce waiting time, improve crowd management and minimise paperwork.
The safari vehicles are also equipped with real-time GPS tracking, allowing authorities to monitor vehicle density and movement within the safari area. The system is intended to improve crowd management while helping maintain a peaceful and safe environment for wildlife.
Central Control Room, CCTV Monitoring
Rajgir Zoo Safari also operates a central control room and CCTV monitoring system covering key visitor areas and wildlife enclosures.
According to the release, the technology enables continuous surveillance, strengthens security and allows crowd-related situations to be managed promptly.
The safari has also introduced immersive conservation education using technology-driven wildlife stories, animation and interactive experiences. These initiatives are aimed at increasing visitor awareness about biodiversity, environmental conservation and the importance of wildlife.
Eco Warrior Awards Recognise Conservation Efforts
The Eco Warrior Awards were established in 2023 by Indian Masterminds in association with the Indian Forest Service Association to recognise notable contributions by officials, individuals and organisations in forest conservation, wildlife protection, environmental conservation and sustainable ecological initiatives.
The award to Ram Sundar M. gives national recognition to technology-based wildlife management and conservation initiatives at Rajgir Zoo Safari, according to the release. It also highlights the use of modern technology to strengthen conservation, environmental awareness and public participation.
