The promotional tour for Bhool Chook Maaf began with a vibrant reception in Patna, where stars Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi praised the city’s warmth and intellect.

Patna: Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi launched the promotional tour of their upcoming film Bhool Chook Maaf at Patna’s City Center Mall on Wednesday evening, drawing large crowds and delivering heartfelt tributes to the city and its people.

Rao, known for his versatile performances, was visibly moved by the enthusiastic turnout, saying, “We’ve promoted this film in many places, but the kind of love and energy we received in Patna is unmatched. My heart is truly touched.”

The actor, recalling his popular dialogue from Stree 2, quipped, “Earlier it was ‘Vicky, please.’ Now I say, ‘Patna, please.’” He further added, “Bihar is full of talent. This state produces the most IAS and IPS officers in the country.”Rajkummar Rao And Wamiqa Gabbi Kick Off ‘Bhool Chook Maaf’ Promotions In Patna

Gabbi and Rao also visited local landmarks, including the historic Gol Ghar, and sampled the local delicacy littti chokha, much to the delight of fans. Their on-stage performance at the mall quickly turned into a celebratory dance with the crowd.

Bhool Chook Maaf, described as a social thriller exploring human relationships and emotional complexities, stars Rao as a common man on an extraordinary journey, with Gabbi in a pivotal role. Both actors interacted with the media and shared anecdotes and sneak peeks from the film.

The film’s release has not been without controversy. Originally slated to hit theatres on May 9, the release was abruptly postponed due to heightened regional tensions and widespread closures of educational institutions and malls. This prompted producer Maddock Films to shift the premiere to May 16 on Amazon Prime Video.

However, cinema chain PVR, citing financial losses from advance bookings, filed a case against Maddock Films. The court subsequently ordered the film to premiere in theatres, with an OTT release permitted only after an eight-week window. Following the ruling, PVR withdrew its Rs 60 crore suit, and the film is now scheduled for theatrical release on May 23.

The promotional campaign, starting in Patna, aims to restore momentum to the film’s rollout. Organisers at City Center Mall confirmed extensive security measures and crowd management arrangements for the event, anticipating a significant turnout.
