Patna: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated across Bihar on Thursday, with political leaders including Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and Bankipur MLA Prashant Kishor extending greetings on the occasion.
The festival, which celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters, was marked by Rakhi ceremonies at homes and public gatherings across the state.
Samrat Choudhary Celebrates With Sisters
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary shared a photograph on X showing his sisters tying Rakhi on his wrist.

In his message, Choudhary wished the people of Bihar on Raksha Bandhan and said the festival symbolises the love, affection and trust shared between siblings.
He expressed hope that the occasion would strengthen family values and relationships and bring happiness, peace and prosperity to people across the state.
Earlier, on Sawan Purnima, Choudhary performed a Satyanarayan puja at his residence. He offered prayers for the welfare and prosperity of the people of Bihar.
Tejashwi Yadav Urges Commitment To Women’s Safety
Tejashwi Yadav also extended his Raksha Bandhan greetings through a message on X.

He described Raksha Bandhan as a celebration of the love and trust between siblings and urged people to pledge to uphold the dignity, safety and rights of sisters, daughters and women.
Yadav said the festival should also serve as a reminder of society’s responsibility towards respecting and protecting women.
Prashant Kishor Joins Raksha Bandhan Celebrations
Bankipur MLA Prashant Kishor also marked the occasion, with a large number of women tying Rakhi on his wrist during a public gathering.
