Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) legislator Ritlal Yadav, who is currently imprisoned in connection with an extortion case, has been transferred from Patna’s Beur Jail to Bhagalpur Jail. The transfer was carried out on the orders of the prison administration amid growing concerns over the rise of unlawful activities within Beur Jail.
Ritlal, known for his strongman image in Bihar politics, had earlier surrendered in a case involving the demand for extortion. His continued presence in Beur Jail reportedly raised security issues and was suspected of enabling criminal operations from behind bars. In response, the prison authorities took the decision to move him in an effort to restore order and minimise the influence of politically connected inmates.
Ritlal’s transfer was carried out under tight security to avoid any disruptions during transit.
