Darbhanga: Voting has begun across Bihar for the first phase of the state assembly elections, with reports emerging of incidents at several polling stations. In Darbhanga district, Jan Suraaj candidate RK Mishra, a former Indian Police Service officer, has alleged that he was mistreated at Hasan Chowk on Thursday morning.
Mishra claimed that he reported the incident to the city police, but said no action was taken. In response, he staged a protest within the premises of the local police station. He further accused those responsible for the mistreatment of being supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The incident highlights tensions in the district amid the ongoing elections, as polling officials and authorities face scrutiny over security and law enforcement during the voting process.
