Patna: Rohini Acharya, daughter of former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, has shared an emotional post on social media marking her eldest son’s departure for a two-year programme of basic military training.

Writing on X, Acharya said her 18-year-old son, Aditya, left for training after completing his pre-university education. Describing the moment as one of pride, she reflected on his decision to pursue a disciplined and demanding path at a young age. In her post, Acharya praised his courage, discipline and determination, and wished him strength for the challenges ahead.

In another message shared alongside a photograph, she wrote about the importance of being able to distinguish right from wrong and maintaining focus, remarks that were widely interpreted as both personal and symbolic.

Acharya, who has remained active on social media in recent months, has increasingly used online platforms to express personal reflections rather than political commentary. Her posts have drawn attention in the context of recent public discussions about her relationship with her family.

Following her announcement, many social media users extended their congratulations and best wishes to her son, commending the decision to undertake military training and praising Acharya’s message of encouragement as a mother.
