Patna: Rohini Acharya has sparked fresh controversy with a recent social media post, urging critics to move beyond empty sympathy and take concrete action in support of kidney donation.
In her post, Acharya called out those who denigrate the daughter who donated her kidney to her father, Lalu Prasad, challenging them to publicly debate the young woman on an open platform. She questioned the credibility of critics who condemn the act while offering no tangible support to the millions of impoverished patients in urgent need of kidney transplants.
“Those who want to do something in Lalu’s name should stop showing false sympathy,” Acharya wrote. “Instead, they should donate their kidneys to the millions of poor people who are counting their last breaths in hospitals, and do so in Lalu’s name.”

She further criticised Haryanvi public figures, journalists, and online commentators who frequently attack her, accusing them of preaching about kidney donation despite being unwilling to take even a modest step like donating blood. “Those whose blood dries up at the mere mention of giving a bottle of blood are now giving sermons on kidney donation?” she questioned.
