New Delhi: A new video has emerged of Ruchika Singh, who came under scrutiny after allegedly making objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest at Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET paper leak, in which she apologises publicly for her comments.
In the video, Ruchika says she is 15 years old and describes her actions as “unforgivable”.
“What I did is unforgivable. I said many terrible things. This is my first and last mistake. I apologise to the whole country. I feel deeply ashamed. I cannot even bear to look at myself. Please forgive me,” she says in the recording.
Age Claim Contrasts With FIR
The apology comes after an FIR was registered against Ruchika Singh on the complaint of Supreme Court lawyer Smriti Singh.
According to the FIR, the woman’s age was stated as 25 years. Based on the complaint, the Noida Police registered a case under multiple legal provisions.
The claim made in the apology video that she is 15 years old differs from the age mentioned in the FIR. Authorities have not publicly clarified the discrepancy.

Questions Over Identity
Separately, a salon owner in Noida has claimed that Ruchika Singh had enrolled in a nail art training programme using a different name.
According to TP Tripathi, who runs a salon in Sector 135, a woman identifying herself as “Mansil Jain” joined a three-month nail art course about a month ago but left after nine days.
Tripathi alleged that she repeatedly failed to provide an Aadhaar card despite being asked to do so. He claimed she withdrew from the course after the management insisted on identity documentation.

Investigation Continues
The case has attracted widespread attention following the circulation of videos from the Jantar Mantar protest and the subsequent police action.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the authenticity of the apology video or the conflicting claims about the woman’s age and identity. The investigation is ongoing.
