Purnea/Patna: The East Central Railway (ECR) has announced revised timings for special trains operating between Purnia Court, Saharsa and Anand Vihar Terminal, reducing overall travel time for passengers travelling to Delhi.
According to the railway administration, the updated timetable has been introduced to improve passenger convenience and operational efficiency. The revised schedule will come into force from May 15 for the Purnia Court-Anand Vihar service and from May 19 for the Saharsa-Anand Vihar service.
Railway officials said the journey time of train number 05579 Purnia Court-Anand Vihar Special has been reduced from 32 hours and 30 minutes to 30 hours, saving passengers approximately two-and-a-half hours.
Similarly, train number 05575 Saharsa-Anand Vihar Special will now complete the journey in 28 hours instead of 29 hours, cutting travel time by one hour.
Revised schedule for Purnia Court-Anand Vihar Special
Train number 05579 Purnia Court-Anand Vihar Special will operate every Friday and Sunday from 15 May 2026. The train will now depart from Purnia Court at 7pm instead of 4.30pm and will reach Anand Vihar at 1.05am on the third day.
The train will halt at Banmankhi, Murliganj, Dauram Madhepura, Saharsa, Garh Baruar, Supaul, Nirmali, Ghogardiha, Jhanjharpur, Sakri, Shisho, Janakpur Road, Sitamarhi, Bairgania, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj and Bagaha, among other stations.
In the return direction, train number 05580 Anand Vihar-Purnia Court Special will run every Sunday and Tuesday from May 17. Departing Anand Vihar at 5.15am, the train will now arrive at Purnia Court at 11.30am instead of 1.45pm.
Revised schedule for Saharsa-Anand Vihar Special
Train number 05575 Saharsa-Anand Vihar Special will operate every Tuesday from May 19. Under the revised schedule, the train will depart from Saharsa at 8pm instead of 9pm and reach Anand Vihar at 1.05am on the third day.
The train will stop at Garh Baruar, Supaul, Nirmali, Ghogardiha, Jhanjharpur, Sakri, Shisho, Janakpur Road, Sitamarhi, Bairgania, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj and Bagaha, among other stations.
Meanwhile, train number 05576 Anand Vihar-Saharsa Special will run every Thursday from May 21. The train will leave Anand Vihar at 5.15am and reach Saharsa at 9.05am the following day, instead of the earlier scheduled arrival at 10.30am.
Railway authorities said passengers are advised to check the revised timetable before commencing their journey.
