Patna: The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a special recruitment drive for 1,538 Junior Associate (Clerk) posts. The recruitment is aimed at filling backlog vacancies reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates.
Bihar has 12 vacancies
According to the vacancy details, 12 Junior Associate posts are available in Bihar under the recruitment drive. Candidates seeking a banking job in the state can apply if they meet the prescribed eligibility requirements.
The recruitment will be conducted through a preliminary examination, main examination and a local language proficiency test.
Graduation required for SBI Clerk posts
Candidates applying for the Junior Associate posts must hold a graduation degree. The degree should be obtained by December 31, 2026.
Students appearing in their final year or final semester can also apply. However, they will have to produce proof of passing the examination by December 31, 2026.
Age limit and relaxation
The prescribed age limit is 21 to 28 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per the applicable rules.
- OBC candidates: 3 years
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- PwBD candidates: 10 years
Salary up to ₹64,480
Selected Junior Associates will receive a salary in the range of ₹24,050 to ₹64,480 per month, according to the recruitment details.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and DXS categories are exempt from the application fee.
For OBC and other categories, the application fee is ₹750.
SBI Clerk selection process
The selection process will consist of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Local Language Proficiency Test
A negative marking of one-fourth mark will apply for every incorrect answer in both the preliminary and main examinations.
Preliminary exam pattern
The preliminary examination will carry 100 marks and will have a duration of one hour.
