Patna: Bihar’s sports minister, Shreyasi Singh, clean bowled deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on the first delivery during an exhibition moment at the Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna on Thursday.
The light-hearted incident took place at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Women’s Cricket Championship 2025, where Sinha was attending as the chief guest for the final. Singh, a former international shooter-turned-politician, took the ball as Sinha picked up the bat, only for his stumps to be disturbed on the opening delivery.
The final was contested between Digital India Thunder and Jal Jeevan Striker, with Digital India Thunder securing the title. Singh and Sinha later presented trophies to the winning and runner-up teams, applauding the players’ performances.

Speaking on the occasion, Singh said the Bihar government’s sports policies and improved facilities were creating new opportunities for young athletes in the state. “With the support being extended today, children from Bihar will go on to win medals at the international level in the future,” she said.
Emphasising the values of sport, the minister added that players should always uphold fair play and sportsmanship, remain composed in victory or defeat, and focus on preparing for future competitions rather than dwelling on outcomes.
