Patna: Patna Metro services resumed on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 PM, bringing an end to a 24-hour suspension triggered by technical issues, officials said.
The Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) confirmed that operations had been halted on Wednesday due to an unexpected technical malfunction, which also delayed the resumption of services earlier on Thursday. Engineers worked through the disruption before clearing the system for passenger use later in the day.

The interruption came just 76 days after the metro’s inauguration, underscoring the challenges that often accompany the early phase of mass rapid transit projects. The priority corridor was inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on October 6, with public services beginning the following day.
At present, metro trains are operating along the Bhutnath–Zero Mile–ISBT stretch. Officials said passenger numbers had been steadily rising in recent weeks, making the suspension an inconvenience for regular commuters.
PMRCL said services had now been fully restored and assured passengers that systems were functioning normally, adding that further updates would be communicated through official channels if required.
