Patna : An ambitious new elevated road in Patna is nearing completion, with the 10km stretch from Mithapur to Mahuli expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and cut travel time to just 10 minutes.
Part of a broader push to improve road infrastructure across Bihar, the Mithapur–Mahuli elevated road is one of around a dozen key projects slated for completion this year. Once operational, it is set to offer much-needed relief to daily commuters, particularly those heading towards Gaya or exiting the city via southern Patna.
A ramp is currently under construction near Bhupatipur, with approximately 75% of the work already finished. Slab casting and girder launching are ongoing, and officials expect the ramp to be completed by the end of May.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed that the project be expedited and has personally inspected the site to monitor progress. The state government views the project as a vital link to decongest the capital and improve connectivity to outlying districts.
Locals, especially those residing in South Patna, are expected to benefit most from the elevated corridor. The Sipara-to-Mahuli stretch, which previously saw frequent traffic bottlenecks, will now offer a smoother, faster commute.
