Sitamarhi: A new rail line is going to be built between Sitamarhi and Rewasi in Bihar, bringing better train facilities for people in the area. The project, which will cost Rs 188.50 crore, has already reached the tender stage. According to railway officials, the tender process will continue until 8 October, after which the work will be finalised.
The Railways has also set a strict deadline for the project. Once the contract is given, the work will have to be completed in 180 days, or around six months. The line will be 11.7 km long, and a new station will be constructed at Rewasi. The aim is to make travel easier for people in nearby villages and to improve connectivity in the Sitamarhi–Shivhar section.
The plan includes more than just tracks and a station. Several big bridges will be built along the line, and modern quarters will be provided for railway employees. The designs have to be approved by the Railways so that the staff can have better living facilities. The project also covers electrification of the new line, which will help trains run more smoothly and in an environmentally friendly way.
Authorities believe this project will benefit both passengers and the railways. Villagers will get better transport options, while the department expects to earn more revenue from the improved service. Officials have said the new line will play an important role in the development of the region by connecting people faster and making travel more reliable.
